The Seafarer Marine Institute is dedicated to advancing knowledge of the oceans through interactive Second Life experience. The Institute has a sustained commitment to science and education through a marine center that includes graphics and displays with informative educational materials. It also includes an underwater observation habitat with marine life and boats for use above the water.
Haven of Sirens, one of five deep-water Haven regions is filled with vast coral shelves, rolling sand dunes, caverns, caves, and wrecks scattered around the sea floor. The Peale in Baltimore, which is housed in the first purpose-built museum building in the United States, has extended its reach into the virtual world known as Second Life.
